Kade’s Makeover

I have wanted to buy Kade some flip flops for about a month now. When I attempted to try some on him at BabyGap he threw a royal fit, so I decided to give it a rest. Yesterday we were in Toys R Us and they had a cheap pair for like $5 so I gave it another try. Again, he threw a fit and told me to “put them away Mama.” I reluctantly obliged yet again. So we went to Nordstrom’s to buy a pair of the typical little boy strap on sandals that I honestly don’t care for and that cost about $40 freakin bucks, and I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. The sandals there just weren’t cute, cool, or worth the money. Just as we were about to leave I look over and see an entire stand of Reef sandals, which are my personal fave (my pair is 4 years old and still look like new) and they are so comfortable-no chafing. I decided to give it another go, and with a little protest he finally let me put them on him. I gushed over how totally cool they were and he actually started smiling and showing them off. Ever since we got them home, he has wanted to wear them – see how persistance pays off.

Kyle broke down last night and gave Kade a buzzcut. It looks so much better, and you can definitely see how much Kade resembles the Opfer boys, especially Troy, with his new do. He is such a cutie.

Check out our little man on Kyle’s flickr page. The link is on the right.
