My little sister, Brittany, came to visit today. She had an interview for an internship with an interior design firm in Beachwood and stopped by afterwards. I’m happy to report that she got the job and will be interning there every Friday. She is very excited and hopefully it will lead to a full time job once she graduates from Akron in December. It is so hard for me to realize that she is a woman now. Not only is she about to graduate college and enter the “real” world, but she is also engaged (to a great guy). I am so proud of her.
Kade had a great time with his Aunt Brit. We went to the mall so I could look around the maternity store, with someone else wrangling Kade, but I didn’t have any luck finding clothes. I desperately need a swimsuit for our trip in June, but none of them look right to me. I guess it’s the idea of fitting a bulging body into skintight clothing – the two just don’t mesh. We ate lunch at Ruby Tuesday’s and Kade was sooo good. He drank his first juice box ever and absolutely loved it, and he actually did pretty well with it – no messes. On our way out we played with the trains in Barnes and Noble. It was a great day, and it was so nice to spend time with my sister.
I love having a little sister, and I can’t wait for Kade to have one too. I have always felt like I had to protect my little sis, keep her safe and innocent. I know Kade will want to do the same thing.
One final note – I think we have decided on a name, Liv Ellen. It feels good to finally be able to call her by name. Now I just have to get Kade to say it…
