Bugs

We spent the weekend doing yardwork, which meant my nights were sleepless due to a constant ache in my back. It was worth it though because the yard looks a thousand times better than it did. We still have a lot more to do, but the hardest part is over. Along with the yardwork, I sprayed the entire house inside and out for bugs. I’ll admit it - I have a bug phobia. Just the thought of them makes me itch. So today, as I pull Kade’s highchair to the table for dinner and a swarm of ants pours out of it, I basically freak out. Ok, it wasn’t a swarm, but there were definitely at least 15 of them. Kyle is laughing, I’m frantically killing them off, and Kade is on his knees examining the little pests. Kade was a big help. I had him search the floor for any signs of additional trouble, and he would politely call out “Mom, ants,” when he found one. I just can’t believe that we had ants after I sprayed everything on Sunday. Maybe I smoked them out and they took refuge in the crumb filled haven that is Kade’s highchair. I keep obsessively checking the dining room and so far so good. I guess it could be worse - we could have cockroaches…
