Cedar Point, Here We Come

I drove into Sandusky yesterday afternoon with my FIL and Kade. He had to come back to town to get some things in order so I asked to come along, and my wonderful mom offered to keep Kade through the weekend for me so I can get some things done at home and spend some time up at the hospital. So, we’ll be heading back to Cleveland tomorrow morning and I will have 3 Kade-free days. It does make me sad to not see him for a few days, but for my own sanity – I need this break. I figured we’d make the most of our time together in Sandusky, so we went to dinner last night with my mom and dad, and Kade ate his first wing. He LOVED it, and gnawed the chicken off the bone just like a pro. It was even Garlic Parm – his Papa’s favorite. His Papa and daddy would have been so proud because his grandpa and mama sure were. Then we headed to Toft’s (a Sandusky landmark with the best homemade ice-cream) for some delicious frozen treats. Obviously, I run into an old friend that I haven’t seen in about 9 years and of course, I am looking like hell. That’s the worst thing about a small town- you always run into someone you know, which means you always have to look in a mirror before exiting the house (not always possible with a toddler).
This morning I decided to go and get our Cedar Point passes and I thought we’d take a stroll through the park. There was no one there, the weather was perfect, and Kade was being so good. He rode every ride in Kiddie Land and he absolutely loved it. Since I’m not at home I’ll have to post some pics later, but I have to say it was a great trip. Kade didn’t want to leave, but I bribed him with lunch at McDonald’s so all worked out in the end. He laid down for a nap as soon as we got to my mom’s so I successfully entertained him to the point of exhaustion. Not bad for a big, fat pregnant lady, who is now at the point of exhaustion herself…
