Sorry I haven’t been keeping up with my daily postings, but this past weekend was an absolute whirlwind. I am happy to report though that my MIL is doing quite well, and after finishing her second round of chemo on Saturday evening, she is relieved and ready to build her strength back up in order to get the hell out of there. I was grateful to have some time to spend with her, thanks to my mom keeping Kade over the weekend. Friday night we took a trip to Coventry and watched the CAVS disappointing loss, but they played their hearts out and it was a lot of fun to watch the game along with some other fans. On Saturday Kyle and I spent the day apart running separate errands, so when we met up at home late in the afternoon he surprised me with news that we would be having a romantic night out. We went to Tremont and ate at Lolita , which was honestly the best food and dining experience we have had in Cleveland. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, and any restaurant with a Maternity Martini (fresh fruit juices mixed in a shaker and served in a martini glass) scores an A+ in my book. The best part of it all though was some quiet time alone with Kyle.
Now, on to Sunday – the longest day of my life! I drove to Sandusky to get fitted for my dress for the wedding, then on to Toledo for Lauren’s shower, then back to Sandusky to pick up Kade, and finally the return trip to Cleveland. $70 worth of gas later, we were welcomed home to an absolutely delicious dinner courtesy of my loving husband. He had made homemade jalapeno poppers, grilled steak, sauteed mushrooms, orzo salad, and ice cream with caramelized kumquats (yes, you read it correctly – caramelized, freakin kumquats!). What a man! He not only had dinner ready, but he did the dishes, cleaned up the kitchen, and even gave Kade his bath. He did all of this because he loves us, and because he missed his little boy. I don’t know how I got so lucky, but I did and I am so grateful for it. He wanted to show me that he appreciates all that I do, and I must say that he definitely succeded in doing that. I just want to tell everyone how much I love this man.
