It feels like I just posted last week’s entry and it’s already time for a new one. I guess time is really flying by with everything going on, although I’m sure it isn’t flying by for my MIL. I’m typing this in the late morning, but I feel like I need toothpicks to keep my eyes open. I guess being pregnant and taking care of 2 toddlers has started to take it’s toll on me already. I didn’t sleep well because I kept worrying that Alli would cry in the middle of the night and I wouldn’t hear her. As fate would have it, she slept peacefully through the night and I didn’t. Oh well, at least I won’t worry as much tonight. I had planned on taking them to the zoo today, but the pressure I told you about earlier in the week has continued and I can’t imagine lugging the wagon in and out of the car, along with 2 kids and then trekking through the zoo in 80 degree heat only to have to do it all over again on the way back. Maybe we’ll try it on Saturday when Kyle is here to help me. I think I will try to rest today while they nap so at least I can keep my eyes open past 9 tonight. Enough of that, on to what I’m thankful for this week.
I’m thankful for my husband who realizes what it takes to run a household and is willing to pitch in and help. He loves Kade and I so much and he shows us each and every day, which is all anyone can ask for.
I’m thankful for Anna, the hair stylist who worked wonders on me last Thursday when I cashed in on my Mother’s Day present. She pampered me and actually listened to me when I asked for something stylish but realistic for a SAHM. It turned out great and I can actually recreate the look on my own with little effort, which is a rare find. I know, I know – I promised a pic, but I have yet to take one so you’ll have to wait a little longer, but trust me – it’s definitely an improvement on the old ponytail.
I’m thankful for the laughter of children. Kade and Alli just look at each other and giggle with delight. It is infectious and even when they have just done something to make me want to collapse with exhaustion, all they have to do is laugh and I somehow forget about the mess.
I’m thankful that I will get to experience raising a little girl. Having Alli around has really made me excited for what is to come and when I watch her and Kade play together, I can’t help but get excited about the bond between Kade and his baby sister.
I’m thankful that it has finally stopped raining. For pete’s sake, it rained for over a week straight and even though it is now hot and humid I will try my best to not complain (as a pregnant woman I cannot be expected to refrain from all complaints though, I mean come on- humidity is the handiwork of the devil himself).
I’m thankful for the weekend that lies ahead and I hope it brings some quality family time for Kyle, Kade and I. With Kade gone last weekend, it just didn’t seem right so we are going to make the most of the nice weather and enjoy our family.
Life is good and we just take it a day at a time.
