Old Friends

We received news yesterday that one of Kyle’s friends from childhood and his wife had their second child on Friday of last week, a boy. We don’t know the details yet because Kyle hasn’t spoken directly to his friend yet, but we know he’s healthy and happy. We hung out with them during our year in Sandusky and their first son and Kade were born 12 hours apart in the same hospital. Our due dates were a day apart and we used to joke about going into labor together, so it was really wierd when it actually happened! Now our second children will be close in age as well, it’s just too bad that we don’t live closer. So, congratulations Cory and Tiffaney on your new baby boy and congrats to Noah on being a big brother!

I saw that someone named Julie commented on a previous post and I am assuming it’s an old friend that I worked with in Pittsburgh. I haven’t spoken to her in well over a year and if she’s reading this – I think about you a lot and I hope all is well, please send me your email address.

I am notoriously bad at correspondences. I dislike talking on the phone (actually I hate it, but we don’t use that word in our house), and I have a way of not writing back right away and then I forget to do it altogether. Ever since I started blogging though, I’ve been a lot better at keeping in touch with people and I respond to email right away. I guess I’ve learned how to juggle my free time better now that Kade is older. I used to just pop in on the computer once in awhile and I’d never have a long enough time period to write extensive emails. Also, I added more minutes to our cell phone plan this past month, so now I don’t hate talking on the phone as much since it’s not costing us $0.45 a minute. Basically, this is my attempt at an apology to all of my old friends who might be reading my blog. I really am not a horrible friend or person and I’m sorry that I don’t keep in touch, but I am truly sorry and if anyone would like to get back in touch I promise that I won’t let you down. My email address is erika@kyleroth.com.
