This is Kyle posting again.
Erika has been moved to a new “private” room. She is doing well and so is Liv. They did an ultrasound and the 3D ultrasound but I was not there to see it. Liv is weighing in at 2 lbs. 8 ounces right now.
Tomorrow we will receive more news as to whether this is Type 1 Diabetes or Gestational Diabetes.
Last night was long for her. They had to wake her up a few times for glucose checks. Also, her level went down to 75 so they had to give her milk to drink to bring it back up. They have to do this to test how they should treat this with diet and insulin.
Today most of the day was getting Erika’s diet all set up and checking glucose levels with the pin prick. She was doing pretty good all day with a glucose level of around 110. They began insulin treatments and she tried out the new “pen”. Well, that did not go so well. She adjusted it to the right level, did the alcohol swab on the location, attached the needle and inserted it to her belly, but nothing came out. The nurse was unsure if any had been injected so they did not give her another dose. Then, they checked her glucose after dinner and it was back up to 175. They will help her learn how to use it more tomorrow.
Erika’s mom came up tonight to help out with Kade. I have to go back to work tomorrow, so she is going to watch Kade and be able to take him up to the hospital to see her. We went up to see Erika tonight and she was doing good.

Thanks for keeping us posted about your girls. Those pics are unbelievable. I must have been commenting on yesterday’s post while you were writing tonight’s.
Sending love and prayers to all of you.

Hi Erika,
I hope you are doing good today. We love you very much and hope you can go home soon. And thanks to you and Kyle for being the best hostess and host anyone could ever have.
