Our week in Punta Cana was very relaxing, but I missed Kade more than I ever thought possible. It was our first time vacationing as parents and it was a totally different experience. All of our other vacations seemed to fly by, ending with sadness at the thought of our return to the “real” world, but this one definitely felt like a week and ended with us elated at the thought of seeing our little boy. Once you are parents, nothing is the same again. Don’t get me wrong though, the resort was beautiful, the scenery breathtaking, and the wedding was right out of a storybook and even though I had a difficult time being away from Kade, Kyle and I had a chance to reconnect and it was a much needed respite.
The diabetes was pretty much under control the whole time, but the traveling days and wedding day were stressful so my levels were out of whack then. Actually, it gave me a chance to get used to the schedule of injections and testing and all my meals were readily available so it was a great practice week for me. I feel like I’m getting into a groove now and Kade likes to watch Mama take “medicine for sissy.” If you ask him where his baby sister is he still says, “at the doctor’s.” I hope I never have to go two weeks without him again, and I can guarantee that our next vacation will be a family one.
Now I have to work on my speech for the reception this Saturday. I completely forgot that aspect of agreeing to be the matron of honor so now, at the last minute, I’m scrambling for the right words. I’ll keep you posted on my progress…

Oooh, good luck with the Matron of Honor speech! I’m also trying to figure out what I’m going to say in my speech for Jillian’s wedding. I have a few weeks still, but I have a feeling I will be writing it at the last minute too :)
Oh my god-ie Erika (ha ha). Im sure what ever you say will bring the whole room to tears. Dont stress to much, Besides I wouldnt want my makeup to run.
Thanks for all you and Kyle have done. We love you very much.
