My Baby’s Growing Up

Things have been rather busy around the Roth house the past 2 days. Our holiday project is to get Liv’s room ready for her upcoming arrival, and we have definitely made some progress. After finding her bedding yesterday, we went out today to find the perfect paint color (which was a lot easier than I had thought it would be), and we even found a rug on clearance at Home Depot (the luck was actually making me nervous). Kyle painted the walls and closet today while I organized a new toy closet in the living room (Liv’s room was the playroom so all the toys need to be relocated), and the trim will be tomorrow’s project.

While shopping for Liv’s bedding we found the perfect addition to Kade’s new toddler bed – pirate sheets, comforter and quilt. The pirate theme has definitely helped with the transition to big boy bed because Kade absolutely loves anything having to do with pirates. We took the crib down yesterday and replaced it with his new bed and he actually went right to sleep and slept through the night until about 4 this morning when he said Mama a few times and went back to sleep. We aren’t exactly sure when he woke up though. We slept in until 9:30 (yes, you read that right and oh how glorious it was) and when we went downstairs Kade was standing at the bottom looking up at us. Only a few toys were out and I hadn’t heard anything on the monitor so he must have only been up a short while (we hope). It was damn near impossible to get him to take a nap in his new bed though. He just kept getting out of it and coming out by us. Once he got tired enough he fell asleep though, so all was not lost. Tonight he went right to sleep, no sneaking out at all. I am knocking on wood as I type this because it all seems too easy. Kade is definitely not a fan of change, so I am amazed at how easy he has let the crib go. I’m sure it will be a totally different story once the room is done and the crib is all set up with Liv’s stuff in it. If all goes according to schedule, that should happen by tomorrow night so I’ll let you know how it goes…

    Erika,
Yes, Kade is a big boy. You need to put some pictures on the site so we can see his room and Liv’s room. I am sure the rooms are just
beautiful. Like I have said before
your dad and I are both very proud of you and Kyle. You both are great parents.
    Love
    Mom
