After spending an entire day cleaning the house and dealing with a very tired little boy who refused to take a nap, I am finally sitting on my now aching butt with my feet up, ready to blog. I’d be even more happy if I could have a glass of wine, but that will have to wait a few more weeks. This pregnant body cannot handle the everyday rigors of running a household anymore. I ache in places that I never even knew existed and even the slightest overexertion on my part causes the contractions to come on. All of you out there who can imbibe in a glass of wine, raise your glass to the homestretch (8 weeks and counting).
Time to give thanks…
I am thankful for my grandma, Ellen Kraus. She turned 75 yesterday and has been one of the biggest influences in my life. I am the woman I am today because of her. She has truly lived every one of her 75 years to it’s fullest potential, and the love, guidance and constant support she has given me and my family are a true legacy.
I am thankful that Kade was good today while I cleaned the house. It wasn’t until I was done that he completely fell apart at the seams.
I am thankful for the Mr. Clean MagicReach bathroom cleaning tool. It is a godsend for pregnant women everywhere. I don’t even have to bend over while cleaning the tub, and when you have a bathroom that is covered in tiles this thing really comes in handy.
I am thankful for the long holiday weekend we had, which allowed us the time we needed to get Liv’s room ready. I love how it has turned out so far. We didn’t go into it with a theme in mind, so when we found butterfly bedding on clearance the decision was made for us and I couldn’t be happier with it. Butterflies and baby girls seem like a perfect match to me…
I am thankful for Diet Rite soda. I have been craving soda (which I didn’t even drink before I was pregnant), but with the diabetes I can’t have regular and with pregnancy I can’t have diet. Diet Rite is wonderful though – no caffeine, no carbs (made with Splenda – safe in pregnancy), and no sodium, and it actually tastes good. My soda fix has now been taken care of…
I am thankful for the family time that Kyle, Kade and I had over the weekend. It made Kade so happy to have his daddy home for a few days, and it made me happy too…

I’m happy you had a long weekend to spend with your family. Liv’s room looks great and butterflies are a sign of new life! (for Liv and for me!)I am thankful for a precious daughter-in-law named Erika who makes my son and grandson so happy!
Catching up on all the blogs. Love the “new” nursery. It is perfect for a sweet little girl. Very stimulating. Now you have a “big” boy. They sure grow up fast, don’t they. Enjoy the “moment”, because they do fly by.
Love,
Aunt Jan
