Two weeks in a row - can you believe it?
I’m thankful for the way Liv Ellen lights up when she sees me, and even more thankful for the way she lights up when she sees Kade. She is becoming more and more interactive with each passing day and her smile is like a drug to me - I can’t get enough of it and I will do anything and everything to see it again and again.
I’m thankful for the comic relief that my little man, Kade, provides. Yesterday the cashier at the grocery store asked him about his little sister and he tells her “we got her at the doctor’s.” No worries about the “where babies come from” question - Kade’s already got it covered.
I’m thankful for my husband who, despite my postpartum body issues, still makes me feel like the most beautiful woman in the room (granted- I usually am the only woman in the room, but who’s counting).
I’m thankful for the wonderful weekend we had in Sandusky and Toledo. It was so nice to spend time with our family. Family is everything to us, and watching Kade and Liv make memories is one of the greatest rewards of parenting. I have to admit, though, that it was a little difficult celebrating our niece Riley’s 3rd birthday because it only means that Kade’s is soon to follow, and I am admittedly a little sad about how fast he is growing and changing.
I’m thankful for that 10 minute window at the end of the day when Kade is in bed and Liv has finally fallen asleep and it’s just Kyle and I and two glasses of red wine. Those few sips and few moments alone remind me of how it all began and what lies at the heart of our family - love…

Hi Erika. I tried to post a comment Thursday night, to you Spider blog, but blogspot or my computer was having issues.
Spiders freak me out! I think they are sneaky little creatures. I would’ve had a heart attack if I encountered that spider in real life. Just the picture alone gives me the heeby jeebies! ;-) Glad you could find the beauty in it though.
We’ll be in town for Thanksgiving, so hopefully we can see Liv in person then! :-) Plus, I’d love to see Kade dance b/c he’s just so cute!
