A Day at the Farm

Sunday was the perfect fall day. The air was crisp, the sun was shining, and the leaves were in full spectrum so we decided to take advantage and do the quintessential fall activity - head out to the pumpkin patch. Kade was so excited at the prospect of picking out pumpkins and Patterson’s Fruit Farm did not disappoint. We stopped at the farm market first where Kade chose 2 perfect pumpkins and Mama chose a peck of perfect apples, which Kade and I sampled on our way to the farm - delicious. Once we got to the farm, a tractor took us back to the family fun fest where there was a barn full of hay and slides, a kiddie corn maze, an adult corn maze, pony rides, pumpkin painting, a playground in the woods, a sandbox, and a giant tractor-shaped jungle gym. Kade was in heaven. He kept telling us he wanted to play in the “nest,” or what we would refer to as the hay-filled barn. The only time he stopped smiling all day was when we broke the news that it was time to go. Liv slept through everything, so Kade felt like he had Mama and Daddy all to himself for once. The pictures speak for themselves.
