Thank You

It’s Thankful Thursday again, so here we go.

I’m thankful for the amazing support of my family in getting my campaign off to an amazing start for the marathon. My sister, Brittany, my Uncle Jerry, Aunt Vicki, and cousin Amber have all given me the push I need to get my shoes on and get out there. I will not let anyone down, especially Cindy.

I’m thankful that my little man, Kade, has decided that going on the potty is a relatively cool thing to do. Granted, he doesn’t use it with any predictable pattern, and he is far from being trained, but who’d have imagined the immense pride I feel when he fills that little seat with even so much as one drop. Oh, how parenthood changes you…

I’m thankful that Liv continues to be a content, smiling, quiet baby. Of course, Mama is her favorite person right now (with the feeding thing and all), but her big brother is coming in a close second. She watches his every move and squeals with delight when he talks to her and kisses her. She is in love, and it’s so amazing to watch it grow with each and every day.

I’m thankful for my mom, who called me on Friday morning of last week and asked to take Kade for the weekend in Sandusky. She said that she missed him and that she wanted me to be able to do some holiday shopping, but in reality she knew just how hard the past few weeks have been for me emotionally and she wanted to give me a little break from the daily demands of raising a toddler. Thanks for knowing exactly what I needed Mom. That little break has made me a better mama, and this week has been wonderful around here. I love you.

I’m thankful for the Mint Cafe on Coventry. Kyle took me there on Saturday evening for some Thai food (that I haven’t had since Pittsburgh), and it was unbelieveably good. We were actually headed to a sushi restaurant, but it wasn’t open yet (too early) so we went for Thai instead, so I guess it was meant to be. I had thai pumpkin curry and every bite was better than the last. Yum!

I’m thankful that the stars have aligned in my favor and I have actually been able to blog on a regular basis this week. That said, who knows what tomorrow will bring, but I’ll take what I can get…

    Erika,

I think it is a great thing you are doing!!!! I hope everyone will take the few short minutes needed to make a donation. I know it is a hard time of year for everyone, but just think of the difference you could make in many lives. The more money raised for research and development for a cure for ALL kinds of cancer the better. I beg of of you out there to take the time and give what you are able to help Erika do this. Not only is Erika doing a wondeful thing in the name of Cindy, but she is doing it for thousands more mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, grandparents, aunts, uncles, mother-in-laws, father-in-laws, cousins, neices, nephews and friends(and all the rest I forgot to mention). So, everyone, on this Thanksgiving take a look around you at all the people you love and remember that one day the donation you make could help one of those people. I pray you never have to face that time, but if you did wouldn’t it be nice to know you have the support of friends and loved ones. Let’s ALL make this a good one for Erika and give her a hand!!!!! Thank you all! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone out there!!! Good Luck, Erika!
    Love,
    Amber
