Christmas came early in our household. I received the greatest gift possible, a toddler who was on his best behavior the entire weekend. I can’t believe how good he has been the past two days (it was so good that I had to write about it, even though this will cause the behavior to tragically disappear). I checked for his birthmark on his foot just to make sure that someone didn’t switch him with a look alike. He seems more mature, more like a preschooler, like he’s left the toddler years behind him. When I look at him I am truly in awe. Kyle and I have raised this little person- so wise beyond his years. It is gratifying to see that the countless hours I have spent showering him with love, attention, and knowledge have resulted in this little man who can recite his ABC’s, draw, count, sing, and even use chopsticks – yet still fit so perfectly in my lap.
Liv was also in the Christmas spirit and slept from 9:00 on Saturday night until 5:00 on Sunday morning (that’s 8 whole hours people). The only problem – I had to wake up at 6:30 so I could leave for my first group run with Team in Training at 7:00. So, I didn’t dare go back to sleep after her 5:00 feed (I would have slept right through the alarm if I had). Again, life would be a lot less interesting without good ole Murphy and his damned law.
I am sad to announce that I have failed to send out holiday cards this year. We didn’t even take the kids holiday photos until today, which makes it darn near impossible to get them all printed, mailed out, and to your mailbox by the December 25th deadline. Sorry, but managing two kids is a hell of a lot more difficult than it was with one so my usual holiday rituals have had to be amended. Again, I apologize, but we do hope to send out an email – hey, it’s better than nothing.

Like I have said many times over you and Kyle are great parents.
Your children will go far in life because of the values that both of you have taught them. Keep up the good work.
