I’m thankful that the countless hours I have spent reading to Kade, saying the alphabet, counting and simply talking about the world around us have accomplished something. Kade is such an intelligent little boy, and he has suddenly begun to actively exhibit all that he has learned so far. It is so gratifying to watch him blossom with each passing day, and witness what a little time, love and attention can do for a child.
I’m thankful that because of the aforementioned events, Kade’s communication skills have improved immensely, which means Mama and Kade can have real conversations with absolutely no whining involved. It’s music to my ears, and does wonders with my stress level.
I’m thankful for this:
I’m thankful for Kimberly Leck (a coworker of Cindy’s) and Grandma Roth, who both have recently made donations to Team in Training and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Training is definitely difficult to fit into my daily schedule at times (thanks to the recent sleepless nights my darling Liv has provided), but it is such a release and has become so much easier (my mile pace was down to 9 minutes on Sunday – very good for a Mama carrying around some extra pounds, if I do say so myself). The hard part is getting out the door, but once I do, the rest is easy (I simply remind myself who all this running is for).
I’m thankful for all the people who read my blog. It’s nice to know that someone is actually interested in what’s going on in our little house and in my big head. Blogs are my therapy. They are way cheaper than sitting on some shrink’s couch, have fewer side-effects than most medications, and you can usually find one that makes your life seem somewhat normal.
I’m thankful for Kyle. Not only is he hot, he is the yin to my yang, the Xanax to my anxiety, the beer to my burger, the wine to my cheese, the…(wait, I need a snack now).

Just letting ya know, I too am a lurker!! ( I love that term, it sounds so evil…teehee!). Love to hear what is going on and all about your adorable little ones. However, can’t get over how big Liv is already!! Keep doing what ya do cause we all love it. You have such a gift. You express yourself beautifully.
Ooh.. you are running! Sweet! Congratulations on getting out there! What race do you plan to run?
BTW – love the background on your blog! Very cool.
Hi Jan, thanks for checking in. I saw your comment on Heidi’s blog about the encryption and I have to apologize for having it, but it’s the only way to prevent spam comments so it’s a necessary evil. You’re right, Liv is getting way too big, way too quickly, but this is such a good way to keep family and friends updated when we can’t be there in person. Love to you and your family.
Erika,
