I am thankful that Liv SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT! We are talking 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep. I have not slept for 7 hours straight in over 6 months. Kade woke us up a little before 7 and I looked at the clock in awe because I realized that I hadn’t fed Liv since I went to bed at 11:30, so I did what any mother in my position would do – I freaked out thinking that something had happened to her in the middle of the night. I wanted desperately to go in and check on her, but Kyle assured me that she was fine and just tired from the events of the day before. The sounds of her stirring on the monitor an hour later were music to my ears. Granted, she cried all day yesterday and she was probably beyond exhausted, so the results may not be replicated this evening, but I don’t care because I am rested, and at this point I can take on anything you throw at me.
I am thankful that my sister has such a positive influence on Kade (insert sarcasm here). I love her with all my heart, but she always manages to teach Kade things that drive us crazy. She showed him a video of a toddler breakdancing, and I caught him in the dining room trying to kick his legs up in the air while standing on his head. Adorable, yes – safe, no…
I am thankful that I got to escape for an hour last night because we’ve been house-bound all week and I really needed a break. Granted, the escape was to the grocery store, but I’m not complaining.
I am thankful for laughter. Most days, our house is filled with it. It’s good for the soul, and I truly believe that if we could hear angels, they would sound like the belly-laughs of babies.
