Full Name: Kade Andrew Kraus Roth

Birthday: March 21, 2004

Nickname(s): Bones, Beans, Chauncy, Mr. Pants, Captain

Last Thing He Ate: Earth’s Best organic oatmeal, a banana

Favorite Movies: Finding Nemo, Shrek, the 1967 video of the opening of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland (it’s a special feature on the Pirates DVD), anything with Thomas the Train in it

Favorite TV Shows: the Wiggles, Sesame Street, Big Comfy Couch, Mr. Rogers, Everybody Loves Raymond

Favorite Snacks: fruit snacks, grapes, chocolate milk, trail mix, cheese and crackers, anything Mama happens to be eating at the time…

Favorite Meal: macaroni and cheese and broccoli

Favorite Song: Feel Good, Inc. by the Gorillaz, Beautiful by James Blunt, Reading Rainbow theme song, My Kade (we sing my Kade instead of my girl), Animal Fair, Show Me the Way to Go Home, Twinkle Twinkle

Favorite Book: Disney Storybook, Pirateology, 1,000 First Words in Italian, Richard Scarry Giant Word Book, Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Suess, Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendack, No David by David Shannon, Thomas the Train stories – the kid has A LOT of books, he loves them all really, which makes his Mama more than proud…

Favorite Place To Eat Out: The Winking Lizard, he calls it “the lizard,” his favorite part is Lucy the lizard, she’s in a glass case at the front of the restaurant and he is fascinated with her

Most Used Phrase/Word: “Oh my God.” It’s not just that he says it, it’s how he says it. Think valley girl.

Nap?: Used to be every afternoon for about 3 hours, but it’s getting more and more difficult to get him to do it on a regular basis, but he still desperately needs it (and so does Mama)

Favorite Destination: He loves to go to a number of places: any museum – the Natural History Museum, the Children’s Museum, (I’m sure he’d love the art museum too, but it’s been under construction the entire 2 years we’ve been here), the zoo, the library, the pet store, the playground, the bookstore at Legacy Village, Target, Giant Eagle, grandma and grandpa’s and nana and papa’s houses, anywhere his cousins happen to be

Favorite Things To Do: play pirates, read, draw, do puzzles, dance and sing, play trains, entertain Liv by running around like a crazy person, make music, chase the dogs around the house

Favorite Time of Day: the hour before bedtime, when Liv is already asleep and it’s just Kade, Mama, and Daddy either snuggling, playing or reading together

His Response When Asked, “What’s your name?”: “Kade Roth” I just asked him this question and it’s the first time he’s ever included his last name…

What He Wants To Be When He Grows Up: he doesn’t understand this question when you ask it, but he says he’s a pirate, sometimes he’ll say he’s a skeleton too – I guess it depends on his mood

Amazing Abilities: he counts everything out, numbers are his thing and he likes to find them on objects, billboards, anywhere…he also is into shapes and he will find shapes in everyday objects or try to make them using his body or things laying around the house…he remembers EVERYTHING (he can recount entire events with vivid detail that happened well over a year ago)

Quirks: he is extremely routine oriented, to the point that if something is done out of order he has to go back and undo it so it can be done correctly…he used to be afraid of the drain in the bathtub, so he tells himself that he’s too big to go down the drain so he isn’t afraid…he makes a real mess with his toys, but he can spot a household object that’s out of place and will go to great lengths to straighten it (I know, he’s a real chip off the old block…)

If you can add to any of the above with things you’ve noticed about him, please do. I think that sometimes parents can overlook things when they are with the child day in and day out that would otherwise stand out to others.

His politeness, saying please and thank you. Showing the love he has for his mom, dad and sister. His kindness towards others. His ability to make you laugh. Being just Kade.
    Love

He loves to recite commercials, namely the Dodge Nitro Rock’em Sock’em commercial. Or the “I’m gonna save you a lotta money!” commercial.

I am amazed more and more everyday by what he knows, what he does and the person he is.
