Another Thankful Thursday

I’m thankful my friend Brian is an admirer of Martha Stewart because she supplied him with a killer truffle recipe that put good ole’ lady Godiva to shame. Those chocolate balls were amazing, Brian. If you weren’t such a kick-a** designer, I’d tell you to go into the baking business – yes people, they were that good…

I’m thankful for the advice my Aunt Vicki gave me for starting Liv on veggies. She had sweet potatoes yesterday, mixed with her cereal, and gobbled them right up with no problems. I’m not as thankful for the explosive poo that followed…but that’s another story. (Why is it that I have completely forgotten how to introduce solids? Is that normal?)

I’m thankful for an old friend, Jamie, who generously donated to my marathon efforts. Honestly, every donation I get pushes me to keep going, and every time I reach the dreaded hill (yes, there are hills in Cleveland) on my run route I close my eyes and think of Cindy and the countless number of others who have endured hell and back, and it puts it all into perspective.

I’m thankful for The Learning Channel. What would stay at home moms do without a dose of the Baby Story every day? It never fails, the tears start flowing every time I watch…I swear, it’s worse than those new Kleenex commercials.

I’m thankful that the horse has lost it’s novelty.

I’m thankful for the way Liv lights up when she thinks I’m going to rescue her from the confines of her exersaucer, bouncer, swing, bumbo seat….gosh, this kid has got a lot of gear.

I’m thankful for the daily laughter that Kade provides. That little boy can be such a stinker, and the stuff that comes out of his mouth….it’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep a straight face.

I’m thankful that the snow has finally stopped, and we have gotten our money’s worth out of the plow service we pay for. I’d be even more thankful if the snow was done for the winter, but this is Cleveland and the forecast calls for yes, you guessed it – snow.
