We had a group run this morning that did not require the usual 6:30 weekend wake-up call, thanks to it’s 3 mile distance from my front door (as opposed to the usual 30-40 minute drive). I was stuggling from the run yesterday (my legs were pretty sore), and the 5 other women I ran with pushed me to finish the 6 miles (if I had been on my own things may have turned out differently).
I got home and rushed to get myself and the kids ready for our trip to Toledo for my niece’s 10th birthday celebration. It’s hard to believe that she is 10 years old already. Kyle and my first “outing” as a couple was at her baptism when she was a mere 2 months old, and now she’s 10 going on 16 – pretty crazy how time flies (what’s even crazier is how after 10 years I still get all fuzzy inside when Kyle touches me).
Kade took full advantage of the short time he had with his cousins, and was exhausted when we left (as evidenced by the fact that it took less than 15 minutes for him to pass out in his carseat, but not before he so nicely screamed at Liv to wake up, which of course she did). In typical Liv fashion, she happily talked to her hands for an hour and 45 minutes before deciding that enough was enough – she was hungry, tired, and sick of being strapped in. She let loose, and it pissed Kade off. He wanted to go back to sleep so he started screaming at her to get her to stop. I move into the back seat to try to calm them both down, which only results in even more screaming because I’m not giving either one enough attention. There I was, wedged in between two carseats that contained two screaming children, and for about 15 minutes I was convinced that my head would explode (thankfully we pulled into the driveway just before my ears popped off). Maybe Kade will think twice before waking his sister up again…
