Happy Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Breakfast

The flurries are still flying after over 24 hours of constant snowfall. We didn’t go to the preschool open house last night because it took Kyle almost an hour to get home from work (it’s less than 10 miles away), and we weren’t about to drag the kids back out in that mess. I am a little astounded that they didn’t cancel it, which makes me wonder if I really want Kade to go to school there (obviously they didn’t take the safety of the children into consideration last night - it seems they were more concerned with getting our $50 application fee, which is what you pay to apply to colleges…this is PRESCHOOL!!).

The amount of snow piled around our house is unbelievable. It’s above the dogs heads so they simply squat on top of the drift at the side door step to relieve themselves (every time Kyle shovels them a path, the drifts cover it up by the time they need to go out again). I just hope that Rocco’s little willy doesn’t freeze up…

After waking up to a blanket of white on Valentine’s Day next to the man I love with no way to leave the house, I decided that we would spend the entire day in bed…until Liv started crying on the monitor, Kade yelled for us to come downstairs, and I broke into a sneezing and coughing fit…ahh, romance.

Kyle bought me some dark chocolate (he knows me so well), so I wanted to return the favor and made breakfast. Kade was really diggin’ the heart shapes.

After breakfast, Kade and I got to work making our annual Valentine’s Day cookies. I really feel like crap, so we didn’t do full blown heart cut-outs, but pink, red and white frosted sugar cookies should suffice.

The snow gave us a nice Valentine’s Day together, but I’m hoping we can get out of the driveway by tonight so I can head to Target for all our trip supplies. Countdown…one more day till we go on our weekend mini-vacation to the burgh.
