Sweet little piggies

I’m busy writing thank-you’s and recovering from yesterday’s outpouring of support. I ran last night after Kyle got home from work and I wore SHORTS…after running through snow and ice for what seems like forever, there was finally a hint of what’s to come…spring! I was so energized from all of you that it felt like my feet had wings. Tomorrow is an 11 miler so I hope those wings are still there when I take to the pavement in the morning (after I lose an hour of sleep…like I had an hour to spare…damned daylight savings time).

We had a day full of errand running (the usual Saturday around here), and while we were out I stopped in a shoe store to get a look at the little sandals and sneakers. The salesperson measured Liv’s feet and we were astonished to find out that she is barely a size 1 (as in one size larger than newborn feet). I don’t think Kade was ever a size 1…he was born with huge feet that barely fit into the 6 or 7 pairs of crib shoes I had at home waiting for him (it’s hard to believe that his feet are actually a little on the small size now). Alas, we must wait on the pink Converse and the stylin’ Pumas, but I do have my eye on these funky booties…at least I know her brother will like them.

Too funny, Viviana. Kade’s first pair of sneakers were a size 5 and he was a year old (not much older than Benny). I can remember watching this little person waddle around, trying to learn how to walk, with these big old, clumsy feet getting in the way. It was too cute.
