I woke up at 5:00 on Saturday morning to run 12 miles with a friend from Team in Training. It felt so good to run in shorts, in the sunshine, with someone to talk to for the hour and half it took to finish. The only downside was the hip pain that crept in at about mile 8. As a result, I walked around the rest of the day like a 90 year old woman…I could have really used a walker.
I went out with a friend on Saturday. For the first time in years (yes, I said years) I got to enjoy a night out with “the girls.” We sat outside, enjoyed the weather, drank wine, and played catch up. I came home to a quiet house with two bathed, sleeping children so I took full advantage and fell asleep on the couch within an hour of sitting down.
Today, Liv and I drove to Sandusky for Kyle’s cousin’s fiance’s bridal shower (did you follow that). Liv got to meet her great aunts and second cousins, and get innundated with hugs and kisses in the process. Kyle spent the day with Kade doing father/son type activities…like mowing the lawn, riding his toddler 3-wheeler, and picking up dog poop. Kyle has been so busy lately, and I know that Kade really needed a day with his dad. I took him to the grocery store with me when I got home and he talked non-stop about everything they did together. He was so genuinely happy.
I’m glad he has such a great relationship with his dad because I am not ready to deal with the “boy” stuff. I was rocking Liv in her room while Kyle gave Kade a bath, which allowed me to eavesdrop on their conversation. Kyle asked Kade what he was doing and Kade replied that he was “wiggling his pee-pee.” I’m so not ready for this…

I can’t wait to get home this summer to sit down with you, have an adult beverage, and catch up. I’m so glad you’re doing so well. I’m so proud of you.
Erika, I had a great time on Saturday as well. It felt like we were jumping from topic to topic and still had so much to say. I’m glad you’ll be staying in Cleveland! By the way - I have many responses to pee-pee comments!!

The male “fascination” with their anatomy begins at a very early age!! That was too funny. Thanks for the smiles. You know if Kade ever goes back and reads these posts, he will be mortified!
