9 Months Old

My baby girl is 9 months old today. I cannot believe it. She is crawling all over the place, pulling herself up on her knees, and even getting one foot ready to go into the standing position. She seems to do something new every day. Little miss independent wants to feed herself, hold her own bottle and explore the world around her. She is in love with her doggies’ bones and her brother’s toys. She knows what areas of the living room are off limits and she crawls to them every time we aren’t looking. When I walk into a room she will instantly smile at me and hurry over to get her bear hug and raspberry kiss. If you sing her a tune (her favorites are the ABC’s, pat-a-cake, and itsy-bitsy spider) she will clap her little hands to the beat. Kade recently discovered that it’s a lot of fun to crawl close behind her in an attempt to catch her and shower her with kisses. She will try to crawl as fast as she can…giggling the whole time in anticipation of the tickling that will soon follow.

She brings me pure joy. When I hold her and her little arm wraps around my neck and her head rests on my shoulder, I can feel how much she loves me and I hope she feels just how much I love her. I have a feeling that next month’s entry is going to include a report of her efforts at walking…so for now, I’m going to do all I can to enjoy my baby while she still wants to be held, to be close, to be reassured by my presence. I love you, Liv. Thank you for brightening each of my days with your sweet smile and even sweeter touch. When you reach out to grab me, I secretly wish that you would hold on forever…

    Hi Erica,

Just found your blog and wanted to extend my congratulations to you on completing a Half for TnT after recently being diagnosed as a Type One. Loved your race report! I will be adding a link to your site.

If you check out my blog (www.petermcdrunning.blogspot.com) you will see in the April and May archives that I have a connection to both TnT and Team Diabetes!

    Best wishes from Canada
