Ever have one of those days where you look around at all of the things you need to get done, and laugh when you realize it’s never going to happen? I could barely get out of bed this morning, and felt like I deserved a medal for getting Kade to school…on time…with matching clothes. I even made it to my weekly date with Joe…although I was looking rather undesirable in my sweats and unwashed hair (at least I remembered to brush my teeth). After putting the groceries away, denying Liv her much needed nap, picking Kade up from school, making lunch, cleaning up the food Liv threw all over the dining room, starting laundry, emptying the dishwasher and finally laying Liv down…I am exhausted.

My parents stopped by yesterday after dropping off some friends of the family at the airport, and Kade told my mom that the toilets were dirty. I just laughed him off and said he must be referring to my “public potty’s are dirty” mantra because I am the queen of clean…honestly. When he announced that he had to pee on our way out of the driveway this morning, I stopped the car, ran him into the house to the basement toilet and gasped in horror at the ring around the bowl…yuk…the kid has a point, that potty (man-cave) is in desperate need of disinfectant (out of sight…out of mind). Now I have an even longer list of crap I need to do. I’m thinking that I should try my old remedy for the household chore blues…the one I used to do before I had children…it involves coffee and Bailey’s and some loud music, but I think I’ll just use my magic wand…if I could only find the damn thing…
