The Details…

I know that I need to go into detail about our weekend, but I haven’t had time to sit and write anything worthwhile. So I’ll just list the places we frequented from Friday through Sunday:

The Garage Bar - We went for a friend’s happy hour party and were the only people in the bar. Good vibe and interesting list of shots…imagine all the dirty sex phrases you know turned into creative liquor combinations and you’ll get the picture. They are really into advertising their bar using pseudonyms for the female anatomy…classy.

Bar Cento/Bier Markt - An old favorite with a new restaurant attached; the rosemary infused, perfectly crunchy, thick and salty fries served with fancy-schmancy Belgian mayo (let’s not kid ourselves…it was straight Hellmann’s, and oh so good) were the perfect ending to an evening in Ohio City.

OSU/MICH tailgate on W.6th St. - The typical group of drunken, obnoxious, testosterone spewing college football fans mixed with runners (who were also drunken and obnoxious), but it was a blast. The race course was less than desirable, but spending time with family and friends made it worth it.

The Blind Pig - We took the tailgate party inside (along with hundreds of other people) and had a chance to relax, catch up with friends, and attempt to watch the game through the masses of spectators around us.

The Nauti Mermaid - A real life version of the Krusty Krab. I never knew that a mermaid’s tail starts just below her ass cheeks…but apparently it does, and it makes for much better artwork.

Starbucks - Sorry Phoenix, but it was next door to the Mermaid. A tall, nonfat, sugar-free gingerbread latte for me…a triple, tall americano for him.

The Golden Coins - Our kickoff for the South Euclid bar crawl was empty, but had a cozy atmosphere. The skee-ball-like bowling game could have kept us there longer, but we had to keep the bar crawl…well, crawling.

Razzle Dazzle - Talked about this one yesterday, and the name says it all…doesn’t it.

The House of Swing…Where Jazz is King - I couldn’t believe such a cool place was so close to home. We didn’t stay long because it was not the place for a bar hopping excursion…more suited for a date-night where you can actually sit and enjoy the live music (and it would have helped if they took plastic…seems like that’s a problem others have encountered as well).

The Purple Shamrock - Young crowd, good jukebox, the owner kept offering us free shots but the lively bunch that we are sat nursing our beers, yawning, and giving all the reasons we couldn’t do them (number one answer…vomit). It would have been a much more eventful evening if our day hadn’t started at 7 a.m. and included running a 5K followed by endless adult beverages…we were a little too ambitious in our weekend planning.

FatBurger - We had lunch before the kids came home on Sunday, just what we needed…burgers with cheese, bacon, fried egg, all the fixins, fries and onion rings…soaked up Saturday’s leftovers quite nicely…thank goodness I ran the day before.

Like I said before…what a weekend…
