One of my resolutions is to blog more. This is the first step I suppose…
I need to get my diabetes under control. I have been battling extremely high blood sugars for over a month. They sidelined me the day after Thanksgiving, nearly ruined my Christmas Day, and I’ve had enough. I haven’t consulted my endo because I don’t want him to to tell me what I already know…the honeymoon is over…my insulin requirement is doubling. So, I’m going to face reality and start feeling better (high blood sugars make me very tired and very nauseous…not to mention the havoc they wreak on your internal organs, etc.). I’m also going to try a low carb diet so I can limit the insulin I need to take.
I’m going to train for another marathon…Chicago…October 12, 2008. In the meantime, I’m planning on keeping up my base by running the Flying Pig half marathon and the Cleveland half in May. It’s really difficult to run in the snow at the butt crack of dawn if you aren’t training for something…
2007 was an eventful year…let’s see what 2008 has in store.

Don’t let the word “honeymoon” fool into thinking that time period was better.. Now you’ll be able to plan your insulin exactly according to diet and exercise. After some adjustment, you’ll find this to be MUCH easier. :)

B - Sign up is Feb.2! I’d be honored to run with my sister…can’t wait.
M - I’m hoping the ups and downs stop now that there’s no insulin floating around on it’s own. This adjustment is taking some getting used to, but I’m looking forward to being able to predict what will happen rather than guess and hope for the best.
