I go and tell you even more.
I was tagged by Courtney, and I don’t usually participate in these things, but it’s fun to find out more about fellow bloggers so I figured I would give it a go.
The Rules:
Once you’ve been tagged, you have to write a blog with 10 weird, random, facts, habits or goals about yourself. At the end, choose 6 people to be tagged, list their names & why you tagged them. Don’t forget to leave them a comment saying “You’re it!” & to go read your blog. You cannot tag the person that tagged you, so since you’re not allowed to tag me back; let me know when you are done so I can go read YOUR weird/random/odd facts, habits and goals.
Here they are:
1. I obsessively clean my ears. I probably go through 3-4 Q-tips a day. It runs in my family…fess up, Brittany.
2. I have a hard time telling people no. There was an older man at the race expo on Friday promoting his waterproofing business and he kept giving the kids free stuff so I signed up to have an inspection done, and now I have to call and cancel it because even if we have moisture in our basement, there’s no way we can take care of it now. Why can’t I just tell people no to begin with?
3. I am published in three medical journals and one art exhibition catalogue. Google my name (Erika Kraus Roth) and you can find links to some of them.
4. I gave birth to both of my children completely naturally. It hurt, a lot, but it was totally worth it.
5. I bite the inside of my mouth. I usually do it until I bleed. It’s a nervous habit.
6. I lick the blood off my finger after I test my sugar.
7. I went to college for six years and have nothing to show for it. I’m the most highly educated, unemployed, and completely unmarketable person you will ever meet. Seriously…I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Pitt. I have two degrees, a B.A. in Art History and a B.S. in Psychology with a Developmental Concentration, a minor in Italian, and I spent two years completing a Post-Bacc Pre-Medical program, which I finished with a 4.0 GPA…pretty crazy huh? Once my children are in school, I have no idea what kind of work I will be able to do (unless I go back for even more schooling)…it’s pretty depressing.
8. I have an affinity for 17th century Italian drawings. There is something magical about seeing the genius behind a great master. I wish I could afford to collect some of them….oh well, I will always have my reproductions.
9. The only card games I know how to play are Go Fish and Slapjack, and I’m not even sure I know all the rules to those either.
10. My birthday is September 11th. It’s not like we can go out and celebrate, but it does help put things into perspective and it makes me very grateful to have the life I live.
Who’s next:
My sexy husband, Kyle, because it never hurts to find out more about someone you will be spending the rest of your life with.
Amelia, the infamous Chef’s Widow, who is not only hilarious, but real and honest and unbelievably talented at keeping her family together despite crazy work hours and multiple projects.
My friend from back in the day, AB, who is living it up Vegas style.
Kyle’s cousin and my fellow runner, Heidi, who is always looking for something to blog about.
My sister, Brittany, who hasn’t blogged in a very long time…maybe this (and the Q-tip thing) will inspire you.
Kyle’s other blogger cousin, Jacki, who’s husband recently returned from a tour in Iraq, and she works from home in an area that has minimal nearby restaurants and shopping…yet she stays sane.

Thanks, babe.
I’m gonna do something I wouldn’t normally do, but you said something that reminded me about my 8 years of Italian studies, don’t laugh if it’s not quite right ;)
io ossessivo pulito le mie orecchie anche. io pulito loro mattina e notte e a volte mezzogiorno.
btw, thanks for playing along :)
This shall be a challenge for me. But, you’re right…I’m always looking for something to blog about.
Kyle - you are welcome, but I wish you had told me something I didn’t know…
Courtney - I can actually translate that. It’s a lot easier to read Italian than speak it…guess that can be said for most languages.
Heidi - I knew you’d be up for the challenge.
