My hand-me-down, 1st generation nano is shot, which means I’m running without Nike+ (and music) so if anyone out there pays attention to my widget in the sidebar, I’m running…it’s just not being recorded (I still have my Garmin, but I haven’t got around to downloading the Mac-compatible software that would allow me to upload the data…when did running get so technological).
I tried to run 10 miles with my dad on Saturday, but at 6 miles in we were desperately searching for a drinking fountain, or a garden hose, or a puddle to help replace the buckets of sweat we were losing. The heat and humidity were brutal, but we made it to 8 miles before we called it quits. I was one salty mama…literally, I was covered in salt from head to toe. It sucked when I went to wash my face and my eyes felt like they were on fire, but if someone had given me some tequila and lemons, I would have been set for at least a bottle’s-worth of shots (why didn’t I think of that when we were at the bar later). I may have been dehydrated, but my blood sugar was a perfect 100, which made up for not finishing the last 2 miles.
Looking forward to the “cold-front” that’s coming in after the storm…since when is 80 degrees considered cold?
Why am I asking all these rhetorical questions tonight?
