Waiting

My pump hasn’t arrived yet and the shot of long-acting insulin I took last night wasn’t quite what I needed to prevent sugars above 200 this morning. I’m going all Atkins today in an attempt to keep my sugars under control (I’m a total carb-loving diabetic so this is major). We are supposed to be at Kade’s preschool this morning, cleaning and preparing the classrooms for the start of school next week, but I have to wait for my package to be delivered and get the pump all set up and inserted before we can go. Thankfully, Ryan, pointed out that I can use CareLink to get all my pump settings (except, I haven’t uploaded since my last appointment in early July and we changed some rates then), which should save some time. The realization has sunk in that I’m completely dependent on this little machine. My pump really is my lifeline and I’m getting desperate to have it back.
