Kade’s first day of Pre-Kindergarten was yesterday (I wanted to post last night, but the crazy day got the better of me) and I had the pleasure of being the first parent helper. Kade was nervous and excited and totally freaked for the head lice check. His teacher wanted to take a photo of each student and their parent, and after he adamantly refused I started to panic but he soon fell into a groove playing with old and new friends. He was attentive, relatively well-behaved and participated in all the activities, and I was so proud to see how much he has grown over the summer. All of the children seem to have grown up immensely over these last 3 months and it made me realize that this is the final year before school really starts and he’s riding a bus and packing a lunch and away all day long. I was ready for him to go back to school. He was ready too, but it still makes me sad to think that he’s not going to be with us every morning as we run errands, go to library class, play at the park, and explore Cleveland. I think the person most upset about the whole situation is Liv. She’s so in love with her big bubba…

I know what you mean! When we got home from the library today, Layla looked over at Audrey’s seat and called for her to get out of the car…of course, then she remember that Audrey was in school.
yep … it is by far, the most un-nerving part of it all …. the older kids are raring to go to school, and the littles feel left out and left behind.
We did special cupcakes the first day, after putting our kindergarten boy on the bus. Slowly but surely the girl and I are figuring out how to get along — just us two!
