Whirlpools, monsters, and way too much laundry.

It’s 3 A.M. and I’m happily dreaming about taking a bath in a tub that has jets and bubbles and candles lining it’s edge when I feel something brushing against my legs. I immediately think that one of the dogs must have gotten out of their crate and decided to join us in the snuggly warmth of our down comforter (we have left their crates unlocked for years and they have yet to discover how simple their escape would be). Instead of Lola or Rocco, though, I find Kade peeking up at me from the end of the bed. He had a nightmare…something about monsters on bicycles…so I let him into our blanket nest and quickly drift off to sleep. Kade isn’t easy to sleep with. His knees always find your back and his arms always find your face. At some point in the night, as he was wrapping himself around me, I could feel something wet on my back. His underwear were soaked (ever since he realized that Kyle sleeps in underwear alone, Kade insists on taking his pj’s off before bed every night so he can be just like Daddy). I woke him up to change him and get him into his dry bed, but soon found out that his bed was where the incident first occurred. He had wet his bed and then brought his urine-soaked little self upstairs and wet our bed too. I have to admit that he’s been dry for months so I chalked it up to the nightmare and cleaned it up without getting too upset. The only thing I cursed about was the fact that I had just stripped and washed everyone’s sheets the day before. So much for water conservation…and so much for getting up at 5 to run.

Poor Kade. I could only imagine what monsters on bikes would seem like at that age.

On the lighter side of things, monster on bikes are pretty funny! (I am literally laughing while writing this). Also, Kade in bed reminds me of Britt. She is very notorious of sleeping in the ‘jumping jack’ position.

Just a week and a half until the big run and we are getting pretty excited to have great time with you and Kyle.

I do love the monsters-on-bikes dream … but love even more the new-found knowledge that Kyle sleeps in his skivs only :)

Our kiddos often dream of spiders eating marshamallows (huh?)

We are WAY still having issues with wet beds (he’s 5) and it sucks … I feel ya….
By the way, Mia TOTALLY won today in our momma’s going for a run vs. shopping drama.
