Meat pies will make everything better…

We’ve been battling viruses around here for three straight weeks. Frankly, I am over it. When mama’s sick the whole house suffers. I can be a real bitch when I’m not feeling well (and I am thoroughly convinced that diabetes only amplifies every bug I seem to catch). I haven’t been able to run since Saturday because, well…because my body aches, my head is throbbing, and my chest is full of all shades of nasty. I have every intention of getting up to run in the morning, but if it doesn’t happen, I’m not shedding any tears over it. My only goal is to feel better before next weekend because, well…because I have to.

I did manage to leave the house (and subsequently spread my germs over the greater South Euclid area) in order to get something to make for dinner tonight. I’m attempting to decipher one of my grandma’s infamous, half-written down recipes in order to stay positive about her emergency surgery that’s going to happen about 5:00 this evening. I won’t go into detail because it’s a rather personal matter, but I’ve been worried about her for over 10 years now. She’s gone through numerous health scares over the past 5 years, and still has no answers as to what the root of the problem is. She has impacted the life of nearly every person she has met. She is beyond amazing. She is the person I have modeled my life after. She is the person I strive to become. She has to get well. She just has to.

I have a feeling that grandma’s meat pies turned out great!

I 100% understand having a relative that is the root system of the entire family.

    Prayers sent grandma’s way ….

Your grandma sounds very much like my grandpa… who is the man I want to become, if I can just be half of him, I’ll be happy! I’ll keep your grandma in my thoughts and prayers.
