Thanks to everyone for the encouragment, support, and great tips.

I'm going to try to lay off for a bit and let her do it at her pace.

I'm also going to jump in to bribery and purchase a bag of m&m's. I'm pretty sure she won't be able to resist those.

I'll update on her progress if there is any...

She will eventually realize that it takes longer to change dirty clothes than it does to sit on the potty. When it starts to cut into play time she will change her tune.

I used to take Max places that he liked and if he had an accident 2 minutes after we walked in the door I would tell him we had to leave to change him at home. After too many trips home he finally caved. Well that and making him help wash out his dirty underwear.

I swear you are talking about my Mia, and not your Liv.

My decision is just to let it be ... work at it when she seems interested ... and way 'let go' when she isn't.

In the grand scheme of things, it is true -- she won't go to kindergarten in diapers, I promise.

I think I'd rather grit my teeth through the continued diaper/pullup changes and not push the issue ...

Soon I'll be frosting her 14th birthday cake, just like I did last weekend for my oldest son ... time flies.

So there with you. Maggie will happily go if it's HER idea (usually a stalling technique before nap and bedtime, but she does actually go during these times) but try to force her to sit on the potty and it's tantrum time! She also likes to announce she's poopy after the fact - and expects to be changed ASAP.
Bribes mean nothing but she thinks the "potty dance" we all do it pretty fun. I've got no answers...but maybe lay off for a few weeks to give YOURSELF a break?

Can you bribe her? We paid our son one matchbox car for every mission accomplished.

Then again, six years later and the kid wants Wii games for doing his homework.

Maybe your way is better.
